We have delt with Shades for various remodeling jobs since 2005. Once again, we needed their assistance for an upgrade to our units and they performed excellently. We have no problem recommending their services. It is not easy to get a contractor in Ocean City, but Don is very responsive. It is a pleasure to have the relationship.

In the past few years we have performed many repairs and upgrades to our three building, 75 unit condominium complex. While we have interviewed and even employed other contractors, we have been unable to find anyone who can even come close to Don’s level of professionalism, construction competence and desire for a positive outcome. Over the years we have done many home improvement projects – some very extensive and others much smaller. For over 15 years we have called upon Don to help us make our beach house in Ocean City, Maryland more fun, beautiful and functional. October 29, 2013, was a day that devastated many homes on the east coast, including my home in the Ocean City, Maryland, lower Delaware seashore resort area. Three and a half feet of water enveloped my bayfront rancher to the point that it was photographed and looked as if it was going to float away. Contaminated bay Water seepage of a foot and a half entered into several rooms, causing personal items to actually be floating when I was able to enter the home.

At devastating times such as Hurricane Sandy, there are many contractors who try to take advantage of the grief stricken homeowner, one of which I dismissed for not showing up and ultimately causing further damage to my property.

At the suggestion of an associate, I had the privilege of meeting Don Furbay, owner of Shades Home Improvements Contractors. Don was highly recommended for his work and I decided to give him a call. Within a day Mr. Furbay was at my home with a crew who immediately began steps to clear out the debris, personal contents, to initiate clean up and repair to my home in an attempt to prevent mold from further damaging my residence.

Since 1978 I have lived at the beach and have experienced various contractors in numerous jobs for me personally ,as well as for my real estate and business clients. NONE were as reliable and dependable as Shades Home Improvements. Like clockwork, they showed up on time and diligently remained focused on repairs /improvements to my home.
